How customs clearance works with us in India

In India, customs clearance is handled by a dedicated partner team that works under the Ziem Logistics brand, to our procedures and with the shipment data we prepare. You deal only with Ziem Logistics, from booking to release. We issue our own air waybills on India lanes, without a third-party consolidator.

Shipping to India: what to know

Indian customs filings are made electronically through ICEGATE: bills of entry for imports and shipping bills for exports. Importers and exporters need an Importer-Exporter Code (IEC), and imports are subject to basic customs duty plus IGST. Correct classification and valuation make a big difference to speed and cost.

Exports from India to Europe, the UK and North America are among our most important lanes. We issue the air waybill at origin and prepare documents once, for use on both sides.
