What we do

Life science shipments without surprises

Biological materials often need import permits, for example for animal-origin products or infectious substances, and many shipments travel on dry ice or in cryogenic dry shippers with limited hold time. We check permits and dangerous goods requirements first, then book routings that fit the coolant's hold time.

Do you ship biological samples on dry ice?

Yes. We ship biological substances (UN3373) on dry ice (UN1845) and in cryogenic dry shippers, with the required import permits.

What is UN3373?

UN3373 is the dangerous goods classification for "Biological Substance, Category B", for example diagnostic specimens. It requires triple packaging and specific labelling.

How long does dry ice last?

It depends on the amount of dry ice, the packaging and the ambient temperature. We plan routing and transit time around the hold time and arrange re-icing where needed.

What is a dry shipper?

A dry shipper is a cryogenic container in which liquid nitrogen is absorbed, so it can travel by air while keeping samples at very low temperatures.

Do biological materials need import permits?

Many do, especially animal-origin materials and infectious substances. Requirements differ by country, and we check them before shipping.
